The Death of Marriage and the Marriage of Death
One of the enduring (new) understandings of the conservative-moderate Person/Newscaster/YouTuber, of the whole question of “Relationship-Dynamics”, is to refer to the formula of the title above. Now there is much that can be said about why such a formula is so immediately appealing, why it seems to be so seemingly fair and reciprocal and capable of granting as it were, some manner of rectification or stability to the sheer chaos of the modern “Dating Marketplace”. I will not attempt to do so here, all that is positive about it may be recalled another time. Much more immediate and necessary for contemplation is whether it has the overall and comprehensive effect that it seems to have i.e. being a viable intellectual framework to grasp how men and women relate to one another on the question of dynamics or even as a rough and ready rule of thumb.
Objective
Here I am going to sketch out;
Why furious debate or vain communication can bring about unforeseen degeneration rather than regenerate ion of a conception or be.
This happens because the process of recapitulation or combat with an erroneous conception successfully conceals the inner depths of the very same conception from the defender.
This is a failure to intuitively apply the fullness of the double aspect of a being to its regeneration. Although this instinctively applied reciprocal double aspect can remove the immediate difficulty (called curbing the mischief in legal parlance) it increasingly “forgets” the core of the being and does not bequeath it to the heirs of tomorrow.

As a short answer to this 21st-century dilemma, I would have to say No. This might seem rather surprising, I mean after all, if women categorically preside over sex - which considering our post-modern obsession with the word “consent”, certainly seems to be the case - then do not men categorically preside over “relationships”? - which is to say, over the act of approaching a woman? or wanting her hand in marriage? In ordinary times, it is generally understood that a sexually “forward” or aggressive woman is not particularly well-constituted morally and spiritually so this would seem to agree with the basic intuitions of our conscience - in ordinary times that is.
The entire problem with the postmodern scenario is that it is not even satisfied with the impiety and “looseness” of the preceding modern times, which is why resorting to achieving a reciprocal balance with its precepts can represent a slide forward into madness just as much as arresting that slide and fixing it in place. This is what seems to be happening with the conception referred to in the title. The entire reason it exists is not first and foremost about the intellectual habit and preferences of conservatives or just anyone attempting to wrestle with the dissolution of our times - but as a last-ditch effort to speak on some common ground with the post-modernist moment. To take one of its operative principles and give it another wheel to create an axle.
The problem, of course, is that while this activity is entirely possible, it is also the case, that to attempt such axles, is also entirely at the behest of the outward spilling chaos itself. “Well if women do that, then men do this” and that’s just how it works folks. Where does it work that way and for whom? For the post-modernist all these confabulations are not optional - they are necessary. The wider world has committed itself to the idiocy of their philosophical conceptions - come hell or high water. Hence the adage, that conservatives conserve nothing. It’s not exactly surprising that the conservative of the 21st century would hardly pass as a rigorous enough left-individualist of the 20th. For the traditionally minded individual, an obsession with absolute gatekeeping is very suspect in the first place. Now that we have moved so far off into the woods and the weeds, this view may come across as particularly crass or even gross.
The (Ontological) Structure of Identity - Exclusively using the Outer Aspect
So while the contemporary world, raging at the son (sun) and hoping to slide into the ocean decides to base all things on sectarian convolutions of “consent” the only “pushback” contemplated is to merely add that the holistic view is to remember what men indeed also “gatekeep”. So the whole “identity” of marriage i.e. of ontological union between opposites successfully slides into the lower place near the ocean - that of the “gatekeepers”. Imagine if you will, the gatekeepers of greek and roman myth. Pray tell, where are these entities typically found? Where is true, the cherub that guards the entrance to the garden of Eden? hmm?
That’s right, the very act of “Gatekeeping” is inescapably related to external vigilance. We are trading the view that the woman is the sphinx of sex, and so far this conception is permitted and accepted why not establish the man as the sphinx of “relationships”? Remake all things finally in their external aspect alone, where we speak primarily of how an entity is capriciously, crudely, and willfully exercising its options in the domain owed to it as its hunting grounds. These rude giants of guardianship are expected to fully wantonly grant or deny as per their mood at any given hour.
Now one might say, merely because we use a certain type of language, how far does that affect the very nature of the conceptions/identity that we are using and contemplating? Is it intended to lower marriage down into the depths of the earth and have it reborn not only as a pure civil union (as the popes of the 19th century feared) but now as a crude arrangement between gate guardians? Imagine if you will, two towers and two gates. Imagine these respectively hidden ocontainedin within the heart of each (and that this heart is related to the heart i.e. the one heart). What would you suspect if you found a people utterly and hopelessly obsessed with describing in so many ways, the guardians and only the guardians of the gate?
And how these gatekeepers can be in a reciprocal balance if each is given its ferocious feral leeway and neither is denied its own set of teeth to bite. A trick if you will be out the terms of (Supposedly) two warring dualities. Exchanging not vows but curses alone? You might begin to wonder, do you people remember what is inside the gate? or that these gatekeepers you speak of may not be so “figurative” or “metaphorical” as you seem to make out? But perhaps by this time, the only option they perceive to render inability to a world without a foundation is to equivalently respect the two weapons.
Outer Identity and its Double Aspect
This state of affairs perfectly explains much of the so-called “marriage crisis”. The last way of speaking of marriage or “relationship dynamics” is finally an exclusive (and this is an important) reference to the outermost layer of its metaphysical composition. So whereas, we must recall that women may govern absolutely the sexual appetite, we may not recall what indeed they are supposed to do with it. Why and for what purpose does the womb exist? what mysterious things does it do? The positive purposive proposition of course to us appears only as a strange tyrant of history. What is it needed for? All things are solved by growing in nearness to the ocean waters and if somebody remembers that the waters are salty and we shall drown - fear not, where are going we don’t need wombs.
So the final solution to the chaos and artificiality problem is one final artificiality with which to cancel the apocalypse. Of course, the apocalypse here refers to the possibility of remembering that humanity exists and the metaphysics of identity is indeed not shallow necessarily. In our times, we are supposed to ask the cherub to chill - we aren’t even trying to get into homes. Heaven is for pussies. So the malefic pushes outward by way of forgetting where we came from and people not so interested in the full consequences of the outward malefic discharge try to stabilize - by also trying to create a new and “enlightened” synthesis.
This synthesis arrives generally, also by way of amnesia and this time completes the circle of forgetfulness. So why does a man seek a woman? Why does a woman give birth? What does she give birth to? A human being? what is that? Seriously, who remembers the meaning of a human being after five centuries of humanism? Can gatekeepers answer these questions? Nope. They can ignore the question and pretend that to fornicate and blunder their way into the full consequences of human sexual relations is the normal way of doing things. This is the equivalent of deliberately placing all that the church taught at the level of the gargoyles at its outermost extremity. There’s nothing wrong with these gargoyles inherently, there’s a lot wrong with moving outwards and being found praising the statutes continually by way of having lost all notion of what lies inside and that indeed once we were inside.
This is the problem with exclusively using the outer way to solve the problems created by the chaos of life - and why the manosphere's obsession with finding ways to fornicate in our difficult days is also a classic waste of time. Continually describing the marriage act (a holy sacrament of the highest order) as the interplay of the two guardians of the two paths can create momentary peace. But with this peace alone, you cannot crown the two wedded Human beings - as happens in a marriage ceremony which is also a public coronation of the two. The two human persons do trade with one another, but this trade is quite literally of the heart.
In Christendom proper, men and women do not merely gatekeep their respective macrocosmic qualia (i.e. heaven and earth) they participate in it fully in the grand celebration that is the whole of creation itself. The province of “keeping” (out) is of a tertiary or ancillary order, hence how one can say one is indeed “entitled” to his wife - blasphemy to (post) modern ears. It is indeed possible to not only conceive of a being as the unpredictable and wilful lawless beast of a particular place but also cast it in the light of the ascent to the heart stored within that same locale. Hence why you can understand that a wife who denies her husband his rights, is subject to ex-communication according to ecclesiastical law but celebration according to post-modern law. Naturally, the outer is not only manifested in a monstrous form - but is capable of a dual-use. You do not have to descend to the ocean waters while losing yourself to them.
Reciprocal (Christification) Rectification rather than Degeneration
This is the image of the Knights Templars - the guardians of the Holy Land, the guardians of the Holy Grail, and yes the guardians of the Church which in itself is the guardian of the tree of life. If conservatives do not merely stoop to defend marriage and become Cerberus but choose to wield the sword in the name of the king - then we can truly speak of what men and women guard and why they do it. They gatekeep not merely to strike a pragmatic balance but also to select partners to fully receive into each other’s hearts. What you gatekeep away from Jezebel and Cain and not merely Gatekeep as Jezebel and Cain. Is it not the business of the world to tell you, that the successful man (a cain of the world) is then fit to receive one of the many Jezebels? you will have the pick of the field if you are sufficiently “Successful” and this is naturally the result of the gatekeeping function, you understand.
Sargon of Akkad comes close to the image of the double mastery of the guardian of the heart when he speaks of this function forcefully in the context of hoes but even so, it painfully lacks a truly central and transcendent motive, a true and real raison d’etre. He comes even closer when he critiques the very criticism of cuckoldry as repulsive - pointing out we need to get to the bottom of the question, why is it so repugnant? because it violates the sanctity of the relation. This again is tantalizingly close (as also when he acknowledges the enlightenment failed to supply sufficient metaphysics) but no cigar. Because speaking of sanctity in addition to the gatekeepers without remembering and revering the sanctum is again a symptom of the totality of forgetfulness and amnesia. We are still outside the church, outside Christendom, in the mouth of the gargoyle and he might close his jaws any moment.
